Brief history: Robert Tingnal Jones, a graduate of West Point, located in Perry County in 1838 where he surveyed and constructed the Cahaba and Marion Railroad. He and his wife Annie E. Jones occupied this house until 1845. Two or three families lived here between 1845 and 1903. Mrs. A.V. Hanna purchased it on December 19, 1903, from A.E. Caffee and wife Annie Caffee at auction in Hayneville, Alabama. It was bought by John Calvin Williams in the fall of 1918. Truman Williams, the present owner, has lived in the home since. According to Mr. Williams, the barn on the property dates to 1904.
